ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has decided to march towards Islamabad on March 26.

The decision was made during a meeting of the PDM, with Maulana Fazalur Rehman in the chair on Thursday.

Talking to the media after the meeting, PDM chairman Maulana Fazalur Rehman said that the price-hike had made the life of the people a hell. "We are ready to offer any sacrifice for the masses."

He said that the PDM had rejected the commission formed for a probe into the Broadsheet scam. "Imran Khan used to say that giving funds to the members is tantamount to bribe. Government employees are coming to Islamabad and the PDM will support them," he said.

Maulana Fazalur Rehman demanded that the verdict of the foreign funding case would be announced immediately. "It seems the PTI does not trust its people," he added. He said that the no-confidence motion will be decided after the long march.

In the wake of a majority in the Senate, Yousaf Raza Gillani will be the candidate for chairman, while Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri will be the candidate for the slot of deputy chairman.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto, PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz and other leaders also attended the meeting.

Maryam Nawaz said that the rulers themselves had purchased the votes in the election for the Senate chairman. "Why did they not remember the open ballot? Now their members are defecting and the rulers are remembering the show of hand," she added.
