LAHORE (92 News) - PTI leader Asad Umar has said that the statements of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leaders are the most dangerous and they are openly talking about rebellion against the constitution.
Talking to the media, he said that a few elements were endangering the constitution and democracy along with the country's integrity for their personal interests. "In the past, there were dire consequences of not accepting the decisions of the people."
Asad Umar said that he would file a petition against not getting a date for elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday. "The elections will be held in 90 days. The courts will not allow the conspiracy to undermine the constitution to succeed. The constitution was violated earlier and conspiracies were made to harm democracy," he maintained.
PTI counsel Barrister Ali Zafar said that the court had full authority to order the governor to clearly announce the date for the election.
Earlier, Justice Jawad Hassan heard Asad Umar's plea not to release the schedule for elections in Punjab. Barrister Ali Zafar argued that the governor is constitutionally bound to hold elections within 90 days after the dissolution of the assembly.
The court expressed indignation at the public prosecutor and said that why he did you not come to court after preparation.
Later, the court issued a notice to the Punjab governor and the ECP and adjourned the hearing till February 3.
