QUETTA (92 News) – Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of the opposition parties against incumbent government, has deferred its October11 and 18 Quetta rallies.

The first rally of the Opposition’s PDM due to take place in Quetta on October 11 has been rescheduled and will now take place on October 18. Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and other opposition leaders will address the October 18 Quetta rally.

The decision was made in a virtual meeting of the alliance's steering committee and new date was announced by JUI-F leader Abdul Ghafoor Haideri. Haideri added that a separate rally by the JUI-F that was to take place in Quetta on October 25 has also been postponed. No alternate date was provided.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PDM has been established by 11 opposition parties seeking to oust the current government and has to run movement through rallies and processions across the country.

The alliance has appointed its first head, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, to lead the campaign against the government. The leader will change on a rotation basis and the duration of appointment will be determined soon.

Earlier, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that ‘save the father’ drive emerged as an Pakistan’s anarchist party but this anarchy campaign will also be failed like the ‘save the father’.

Fawad Chaudhry slammed the PML-N for taking aim at national institutions, saying that they must criticize us but not the institutions. “Maulana is leading the grand alliance of corruption. What is the reason that the roof of JI chief Sirajul Haq's house roof is leaking, and Maulana Fazlur Rehman has billions of rupees.

The minister said that it was the moral responsibility of Nawaz Sharif to return. “The PML-N quid has left the country claiming to be ill. I always used to say he was not sick,” he added.

“Nawaz Sharif had made an excuse of illness. Nawaz Sharif is discovering a new restaurant every day at Mayfair. The PNL-N quid has been convicted and he must be brought back. We have no personal issue with him,” Fawad maintained.

He further mentioned that the former premier have gone out with billions of rupees, either to return it or to be punished. “We have not banned anyone from speaking. We want them to talk as much as possible because they expose themselves as much as they talk. I will ask the PML-N to challenge the court's decision and give Nawaz Sharif a chance to speak because he will expose himself as much as he speaks,” he added.
