Peace in Afghanistan a shared interest: COAS Bajwa

LONDON (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that the peace in Afghanistan is a shared interest.

 

Addressing the Pakistani community during his official visit to the United Kingdom, the COAS said that Pakistan will continue its positive role and is ready to work closely with Afghanistan.

 

The army chief also apprised the community of the success in war against terrorism and extremism.

 

He said that the entire nation is united against terrorism and the Pakistani nation would continue to play its role for the country’s security.

 

The army chief had separate meetings with UK Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, Special Representative on Afghanistan and Pakistan Owen Jenkins and US Resolute Support Mission Commander General John Nicholson.

 

The UK leadership and RSM Commander appreciated positive role played by Pakistan towards peace and stability in Afghanistan.

 

The army chief also visited the British Ministry of Defence in London during his visit.
