Peace in Afghanistan vital for regional peace and security, says Gen Raheel Sharif

MUNICH (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has on Tuesday said that peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan is vital for regional peace and security and Pakistan is making sincere efforts in this regard. According to a statement issued by the ISPR, COAS Gen Raheel Sharif addressed the CENTCOM Asia Security Conference in Munich, Germany on Tuesday. The Army Chief said that effective management of the Pak-Afghan border is imperative for successful conclusion of Zarb-e-Azb operation against terrorists. He said that stability in Pakistan will increase cooperation with other countries of the region, while the benefits of China Pakistan Economic Corridor project could be shared with Afghanistan and East Asian countries and all countries will be benefitted from this project. General Raheel Sharif reaffirmed the commitment to address the menace of terrorism for socio-economic development of the country.
