People ecstatic as CNG supply restored in Sindh after many days

KARACHI (92 News) – The CNG supply was restored across Sindh after many days and the people ecstatic as started lining at CNG stations. As per report, the transport also resumed at Karachi after restoration of CNG supply in Sindh. The people also took a sigh of relief on the availability of CNG supply. According to weekly schedule, CNG stations across the province will remain open tonight and will now close tomorrow morning at 8AM. In an earlier notification by SSGC, CNG stations were ordered to be shut down from 8pm Sunday till Tuesday. Federal Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan earlier announced on his recent visit to Karachi that the government had decided to resume gas supply to the CNG sector, almost a week since the crisis-hit CNG stations in Karachi had left public transport in disarray. It is pertinent to mention here that all the CNG stations were closed for an indefinite time in Karachi due to a gas shortage on December 11. There are a total 650 CNG stations in Sindh, of which 300 are in Karachi. The province has been without CNG for six days and public transport has suffered. Residents are tired of paying higher fares for taxis or rickshaws and have appealed to the government to restore the gas supply.
