SUKKUR (92 News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) stalwart and former opposition leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah slammed the incumbent government, asking that people fleeing parliament how can run the country. Speaking to the journalists, the PPP stalwart said that the country would progress when every matter will be brought to the parliament. “Imran Khan always criticized former premier Nawaz Sharif for not attending the parliament session, now he himself is contradictory of the power of parliament,” he said. “I told in past to Nawaz Sharif to come to the parliament, he didn’t come. We also told Imran Khan to come in the parliament but his mind still focused on the container,” Khursheed Shah mentioned. Commenting on Asad Umar’s resignation from finance ministry, the former opposition leader said that Asad Umar showed dream of paradise to the public even he knew the extent of debt and other facts related to the country’s economy. Khursheed also said that he didn’t have any experience of running the economy before, adding that conditions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have been accepted cause of worse situation of country’s economy. The PPP leader said that has said that nomination of Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh for the finance portfolio proves that the government needs the PPP. Commenting about Fawad Chaudhry, Khursheed Shah termed that the former information minister even didn’t know about his future. He also claimed that Asad Umar was sacked in confrontation between two big-shots.
Asad Umar quits Finance Ministry
A day earlier, Asad Umar quit from his office. In a tweet, he said that: “As part of a cabinet reshuffle, Prime Minister Imran Khan desired that I take the energy minister portfolio instead of finance. However, I have obtained his consent to not take any cabinet position.” He said that he strongly believes that Prime Minister Imran Khan is the best hope for Pakistan and Inshallah will make a ‘Naya Pakistan’.
