People forced to buy flour at exorbitant rate as subsidized flour disappears

LAHORE (92 News) - People are forced to purchase flour at a high rate after disappearance of the subsidized flour from shops.

People told 92 News that shopkeepers were selling a 15kg bag at Rs1,210 after unavailability of 10kg and 20kg bags at subsidized rates.

The Food Department is providing 16,700 tons of wheat to flour mills.

The Flour Mills Association chairman said that the subsidized flour was being given to the market. "Private flour is being to fulfill deficiency of flour," he added.

He said that small shopkeepers should provide flour to citizens after picking it from the dealers.
