Peshawar High Court stays LB re-election in 354 polling stations of KPK

PESHAWAR (92 News) – Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Friday halted the re-election in 354 polling stations on KPK in the Local Bodies election. As per details, the petitioner, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf’s (PTI) MPA Zahid Durrani, pleaded that as the elections held on May 30 were not transparent and impartial therefore; the polls should be declared null and void. A two-member bench comprising of Justice Irshad Qaiser and Justice Daud heard the case. The petitioner also requested the court to halt the process of re-polling that is due to be conducted on July 5. The court while issuing a stay order summoned election commission and adjourned the hearing of the case till July 14.
