Petitions seeking disqualification of Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif rejected

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Monday rejected all the petitions regarding the disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan as member of the National Assembly. The petitioner Manzoor Bhatti said in his petition that the country’s poor people cannot afford treatment then how could Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif travel to London for medical treatment. He said that the prime minister should be asked under which law he was treated in London as millions of rupees have been spent on his treatment from the national treasury on which the ECP said that the ECP has nothing to do with the treatment of Nawaz Sharif. On the other hand, a petitioner Abdul Rauf in his petitions said that PTI chairman Imran Khan depositing Zakat money in his company and asked the commission to disqualify him from the parliament seat. The ECP rejected the petitions over lack of evidence.
