ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill has said that the petrol price is being raised by Rs 1.71 per litre from August 1.

In a tweet on Friday, he said that there would be no increase in the diesel price. "The increase in the diesel price affects the common man and the farmer," he added.

He said that the 27 countries having less petrol price as compared to Pakistan are self-reliant in the POL products. "Inflation is affecting the world due to coronavirus," he said.

Responding to Shahbaz Gill's statement, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said that the increase in the petrol price is injustice with the people. "The government is snatching the right to live from the people. The government should withdraw the cruel step," he maintained.
