Petrol price expected to decrease by Rs10 per liter in June

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The petrol price in Pakistan is expected to drop by Rs10 per litre from June 1 on Wednesday. It is pertinent to mention here that the sale of petrol fell drastically across the country due to coronavirus (COVID-19). After decline in oil prices in the global market, it is expected that the price of the petroleum products in Pakistan may also be decreased. According to the sources, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended to the government to reduce petrol prices by Rs 5 to Rs 10 per liter from June 1st, 2020. Moreover OGRA has proposed Rs 2 reduction in diesel price. Summary of OGRA’s reduction in petroleum products will be sent to the Finance Ministry tomorrow. If the government accepts the suggestion of the Authority, the petrol price will come down from current Rs 81.58/liter to Rs 76.58/liter on reduction after Rs 5 per liter and Rs 71.58/liter after reduction of Rs 10 per liter. Earlier, on the recommendation of the OGRA, the Finance Ministry has reduced the petrol price by Rs15 to Rs81.58 per litre. According to a notification issued on Thursday, the price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs80.10 per liter after a decrease of Rs27.15 per litre. The kerosene oil price has been reduced by Rs30.01 per litre to Rs47.44 per litre. The price of light-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs47.51 per litre after a decrease of Rs15.
