Petrol price likely to be further increased by Rs40 per litre from July 1

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The petrol price is likely to be further increased by Rs40 per litre from July 1.

Sources said that the new petrol price would be Rs275 per litre. It has been proposed to increase the levy on petrol by 15 percent from the new fiscal year. However, the final decision in this regard will be made in a couple of days.

On the other hand, the dollar decreased by Rs1.07 in the interbank market. After the decrease, the dollar was closed at Rs206.87. In the open market, the dollar remained at Rs206.50.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the current account deficit has reached a US$Rs15.19 billion. In May 2022, the current account deficit remained at US$1.42 billion. In May 2021, the deficit was US$640 million.
