Petrol shortage feared as Oil Tankers Association's strike enters 4th day

KARACHI (92 News) – Petrol shortage is feared across the country as the strike of Oil Tankers Association has entered fourth day today (Tuesday). 

 

At least 30 per cent petrol pumps have been closed in Karachi over the strike of oil tankers against the sales tax. 

 

A shortage of petrol is observed in Korangi, Purani Sabzi Mandi and Landhi areas.

 

According to Oil Tanker Contractors Association, 30 per cent petrol pumps of the city have been closed.

 

The Petroleum Ministry and Oil Tankers Association would hold talks in Islamabad today.

 

The taxes imposed on the supply of oil would come under discussion.

 

The provincial governments had imposed sales tax on petrol, causing shortage of petrol in several cities.
