PIA privatization challenged in Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The proposed privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and PIA Mandatory Services Act have been challenged in the Supreme Court on Saturday.

The petitioner said in its petition that the government wants to privatize national flag carrier and the employees held protest demonstration after the government’s decision but police baton charged and fired tear gas on the employees, killing three workers.

The petitioner said that the government passed the bill in the National Assembly in the absence of opposition parties.
