PIA resumes flights to Kuala Lumpur after eight months
October 14, 2019
KARACHI (92 News) – The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after six months. The first flight (PK-894) left Islamabad for Kuala Lumpur in the morning. The flights will depart twice a week – Monday and Friday. Pakistan had on Feb 26 fully closed its airspace following the violation of its international boundary and airspace by Indian fighter jets. In March, it partially opened its airspace but kept it banned for the Indian flights. India had also banned its airspace for flights to Pakistan. The PIA operations for Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and New Delhi were suspended on Feb 26. The foreign airlines that were operating on these routes had to suspend their operations. Pakistani passengers had to reach these destinations – Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok – by taking connecting flights from the Gulf.
