PIA starts direct flights from Lahore to Baku on April 20
LAHORE (92 News) Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the commencement of direct flights from Lahore to Baku, Azerbaijan, beginning April 20.
The national flag carrier will operate two weekly flights on the new route, scheduled every Sunday and Wednesday. The initiative aims to strengthen tourism and trade ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
To mark the launch, PIA hosted a special event in Karachi for travel agents and tour operators, sharing details of the flight schedule, onboard facilities, and the strategic importance of Baku as a travel and business destination.
PIA officials emphasised the crucial role of travel agents in promoting the new service and ensuring its commercial success. The airline also plans to hold similar ceremonies across major cities to further engage the travel industry.
The announcement follows PIA’s recent return to profitability, which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised as a “major turnaround” for the airline.
