KARACHI (92 News) – Following the deaths of colleagues in Karachi yesterday, the employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have on Wednesday go on strike, while the national airlines flights have been cancelled.

The staff members of PIA’s office located at Egerton Road refused to work after two employees of the national flag-carrier were killed and several others injured when law enforcers used batons and tear gas to disperse the protesters.

On the other hand, the PIA’s Joint Action Committee in Karachi continued on ninth day to protest against proposed privatization of national airlines due to which all flights were cancelled.

The protest affected booking and inquiry services as workers boycotted office work in different cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Quetta, on a call given by union leaders.
