PIC attack case: ATC extends bail of 13 accused till Jan 22

LAHORE (92 News) – Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Abdul Qayyum on Wednesday extended the bail of 13 accused till January 22. Meanwhile, the court ordered seven accused – Syed Zain Abbas, Ali Javed, Muzammil Hussain, Sikandar Siddique, Abid Hussain Naz, Malik Haseeb and Naeem Umar – to appear for the photogrammatic test. The court also ordered to submit the report after completing all tests. The photogrammatic tests of Rana Adeel, Umar Ghauri, Abdur Rehman Butt, Osama Muaz and Abdul Majid have already been completed. The court ordered all accused to ensure their presence for the forensic laboratory test on January 20. On December 24, the court had granted bail to 25 more lawyers in the case. The court ordered to submit the surety bonds worth Rs100,000 each. Police had presented over arrested lawyers in the ATC amid tight security measures. A heavy contingent of police has also been deployed around the courtroom premises to prevent any untoward incident. The Shadman police registered two cases against 21 nominated and 250 unknown lawyers on the charge of storming the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC). The cases were registered under sections 322, 440, 452, 353, 186, 354, 148, 149, 337H(2) and 395 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of Dr Zeeshan, Dr Irfan Niazi, Dr Muhammad Irfan and Dr Muhammad Habib.
