LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned IGP Punjab Shoaib Dastgir and Chief Secretary Maj (retd) Azam Suleman in the PIC attack on Wednesday. Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi remarked that this attitude with the arrested lawyers is intolerable. “We will not let anyone disregard the black coat in this way,” he said. Earlier on Tuesday, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Arshad Hussain had reserved the verdict on the pleas for release of lawyers arrested in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) attack case. The verdict was reserved after hearing the arguments of the parties in the application of 20 lawyers. On the other hand, the police have presented the record of the case. The petitioners said that the police had illegally arrested the lawyers who should be released. The prosecutor contended the accused nominated in the case were arrested. The accused damaged the state properties. He prayed to the court to reject the pleas of the lawyers. On the other hand, PM’s nephew Hassan Khan Niazi involved in the attack is still at large. The police have claimed to have raided several places, but failed to arrest the accused. At least six patients lost their life during the attack at Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) by lawyers who stormed and ransacked it in protest against doctors. The administration hid to save their lives when the PIC was attacked by the rioters; however, the process of treatment for patients stopped for a while and three patients died during this horrible scene.
