Pillion riding banned as Section 144 imposed in Peshawar

PESHAWAR (92 News) - The Khyber Paktunkhwa government has imposed the Section 144 in Peshawar, banning pillion riding on motorcycles during Muharram. The Section 144 has been implemented in view of security on the occasion of Muharram. Under the Section 144, pillion riding on motorcycles will be banned in the province from 1st Muharram to 10th Muharram. The display and carrying of arms will also be banned in the province and the licence to carry arms will be revoked from 1st to 10th Muharram. The wall chalking on the walls of mosques and Imam Bargah has also been banned during Muharram. From 1st to 10th Muharram, gatherings of 5 people, hateful wall chalking, provocative speeches and recordings will also be banned in the province, while aerial firing and meetings and gatherings without permission have also been banned.
