Pir of Sial gives 7-days deadline to impose of sharia law, threatens to shut down Punjab

LAHORE (92 News) – Pir of Sial Khawaja Hameeduddin Sialvi on Saturday while giving the authorities seven-days deadline for the imposition of sharia law, threatened to shut down the entire Punjab. Addressing the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat conference in Lahore on Saturday, he asked the participants of protest to not let the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat movement die at any cost. He said that it was his will to all those listening. The Sargodha-based spiritual leader further asked the participants to take a vow to follow the footsteps of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), adding that the Almighty grants them the strength to spread the movement to all parts of Pakistan and beyond. Earlier, thousands of people from across the country reached Lahore and participated in the conference. Thousands of people, including religious scholars accompanied him, while caravan from other cities including Samundri, Chiniot, Tandliawala, Jaranwala, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh will reached Lahore to participate in the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat conference. The Pir of Sial Sharif had postponed the January 13 visit to Data Darbar in the wake of the Kasur and Sargodha incidents. The Sargodha-based spiritual leader has been demanding the resignation of the provincial law minister over his controversial remarks about religious minority Ahmedi community with regard to Khatm-e-Nabuwwat. He said the protestors would stay at Data Darbar till Rana Sanaullah resigns. It is pertinent here to mention that Pir Sialvi had called for the resignation of Rana Sanaullah. Sialvi had also warned Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take resignation from Rana Sanaullah or show him the door. Earlier on December 10, the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) had suffered a major blow after five lawmakers, three MPAs and two MNAs, submitted their resignations to Pir Sialvi.
