LAHORE (92 News) – Renowned playwright Bano Qudsia, also known as Bano Aapa, is being remembered on her 90th birth anniversary on Wednesday. She married to renowned playwright Ashfaq Ahmed. She was born on in Ferozepur, India, on November 28, 1928. After the partition, she shifted to Pakistan with her family. She studied at Government College and Kinnaird College, Lahore. Her notable books include Raja Gidh, Amar Bail, Adhi Baat, Doosra Darwaza, Tamseel, Haasil Ghat, Aatish-i-zer-i-paa, Aik Din, Asay Pasay, Chahar Chaman, Chhotaa Sheher Baray Log, Footpath ki Ghaas, Haasil Ghaat and Hawa Kay Naam. Her plays Raja Gidh and Aadhi Baat are called classics. Bano Qudsia also wrote for television and stage in both Urdu and Punjabi languages. She was bestowed with Sitara-e-Imtiaz for her literary services. She died in Lahore on February 4, 2017.
