PM Abbasi meets UN Secy General Antonio Guterres

NEW YORK (92 News) – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has on Friday met UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in New York. During the meeting, the prime minister demanded the United Nations to appoint a special representative for Kashmir. Raising Kashmir issue, he handed over a dossier on human rights violations in Kashmir by India, adding that India has closed the doors of dialogue with Pakistan. He urged the UN Secretary General to appoint a special envoy on Kashmir. He said it was necessary since India had closed all the doors on any dialogue. The prime minister also briefed the UN Secretary General about ceasefire violations by Indian security forces along the Line of Control and said there had been around 600 violations this year alone. He pointed that only on Thursday four people have been martyred by Indian firing. Antonio Guterres acknowledged Pakistan's counterterrorism steps, adding that Pakistan is very dear to his heart and said he had visited the country many times.
