ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan was accorded an outstanding reception on his arrival at Islamabad International Airport, after his successful US visit at the UN General Assembly session. Imran Khan has landed in the federal capital Islamabad after concluding his successful visit to the US where he delivered a historical speech in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 27. As he made his way to the main hall, loud cheers were heard from the crowd numbering in hundreds. Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has just landed at Islamabad airport, will be given an outstanding reception. Upon his arrival at the Islamabad airport, PM Imran Khan received warm welcome from federal ministers, cabinet members, other legislators, central leaders of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and a large number of PTI activists crowded to meet him. Special arrangements were made prior to the arrival of the premier at Islamabad airport as his special flight was scheduled to land at 4:30 pm. A large number of activists arrived at the Islamabad International Airport in shape of rallies from Lahore, Faisalabad and Peshawar. Convoys of cars and pickup trucks carrying PTI workers from different parts of the country were seen entering the capital ahead of the prime minister's arrival. Videos posted on social media showed the workers waving flags of the ruling party and Azad Kashmir. Federal Minister Murad Saeed, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Shah Farman and central leaders of the ruling party are present on the occasion. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi among the Pakistani delegation including Adviser to the PM on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Special Assistant to the PM on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari and other senior officials are also accompanying the PM. Earlier in the day, PM Khan along with his delegation departed for Riyadh by a commercial flight back to Pakistan. The prime minister, who was accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood, was seen off at New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Maleeha Lodhi. Chief organiser Saifullah Niazi had reportedly ordered party workers to prepare for the occasion and receive the Prime Minister at the airport in glorious fashion, stamping their love and affection for their leader and his exhaustive efforts to highlight the plight of Kashmiris and the injustices being committed around the globe against Muslims and poorer human beings. On Thursday, PM Imran had left for Pakistan via Saudi Arabia, but his plane was diverted to New York after a couple of hours flight following a minor technical fault. He stayed at a hostel for a night before beginning new journey back home. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Khan Gandapur told reporters in New York that the plan developed fault in navigation system. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stalwart Jahangir Khan Tareen said that Prime Minister Imran Khan fought Kashmir case like a true hero at the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
