President dissolves National Assembly on advice of Prime Minister
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – President Dr Arif Alvi has approved the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan to dissolve the National Assembly.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has sent a summary to President Dr. Arif Alvi, advising him to dissolve assemblies for fresh elections in the country.
He made this announcement in a brief address to the nation on television on Sunday.
The Prime Minister said a caretaker setup will be formed after dissolution of the assemblies, initiating the process for new general elections.
Imran Khan said the foreign conspiracy for regime change in the country has been foiled. He said only people have power to bring an elected government in the country. He said the nation should prepare for fresh elections.
The Prime Minister said Deputy Speaker National Assembly rejected the no-confidence motion exercising his constitutional powers because it was based on a foreign conspiracy to change regime in the country.
Acting upon the adivce, of Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi has dissolved the National Assembly.
On the other hand, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said in a message on Twitter that the Prime Minister Imran Khan will continue his duties under the article 224.
