ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the construction of dams is inevitable for the country. In a special message to the nation on Thursday, he said that the water issue is the biggest issue in Pakistan. “The country could face famine by 2025 if dams were not constructed," he said. He appealed to the overseas Pakistanis to donate US$1,000 per person for the construction of dams. “We have to construct these dams and we will construct them,” he declared. The prime minister assured the nation of safeguarding the donated amount, saying that all amount will be spent on dams. “The Egyptian people also constructed a dam as they were not getting loans from abroad,” he said. Imran Khan said that dams are very essential for the future of the country. He said that he had promised to bring all the matters before the nation. "The Neelum-Jhelum project was delayed due to lack of funds," he said.
