PM, COAS decide to continue Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists, criminals

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif  on Tuesday and discussed internal and external security situation of the country in addition to discussing progress of Operation Zarb-e-Azb. As per reports, the two decided that operation against criminals and terrorists will continue unhindered across the country to optimally utilize the environment created due to phenomenal successes of Zarb-e-Azb. It was reiterated that Zarb-e-Azb would be taken to its logical conclusion, regardless of the cost, and terrorists and criminals would be hunted down indiscriminately. PM Nawaz while lauding the gains of operation Zarb-e-Azb in FATA, said the nation is proud of its valiant armed forces and highly values the sacrifices rendered by our officers and men in fight against terrorism. "The nation stands together in full support of the operation against the militants," he said, adding that the targeted operation in Karachi will also be continued as planned. Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif has said that operation Zarb-e-Azb would continue till restoration of permanent peace and tranquility in the tribal areas. "The international community had acknowledged the efforts of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for peace in the South Asian region," he said.
