PM, COAS Gen Bajwa discuss security situation including coronavirus

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday. The prime minister chaired a high-level meeting after the army chief called on him. The meeting was attended by Director General (DG) Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar and Adviser to PM on Accountability Shahzad Akbar. The meeting discussed the overall situation of national security along with also discussing coronavirus situation. On the other hand, as many as 46 more people died due to coronavirus during the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll to 985. According to the data available with the National Command and Operation Centre on Wednesday, the number of coronavirus patients has jumped to 45,898 with 1,932 cases reported during the last 24 hours. There are 16,685 cases in Punjab, 17,947 in Sindh, 2,885 in Balochistan and 6,554 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The number of patients in Islamabad is 1,138, 133 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 556 in Gilgit-Baltistan. In total, 13,101 patients have so far recovered. On the other hand, 13,962 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours and as a result, total tests conducted so far are 414,254.
