PM congratulates Finance Adviser Abdul Hafeez Sheikh on assuming office

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The newly-appointed Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday. The PM congratulated Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh on assuming the office. The former apprised the PM about his opinion on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) package. He also presented a roadmap for the economic revival. Earlier, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh assumed the charge of his office and held key meetings in the Finance Ministry. The officials briefed the finance adviser about the matters. Talking to the media, Dr Sheikh said: "I have issued directives to prepare for the budget and a medium-term strategy paper for the budget." He said that the process of talks with the IMF would be expedited. “Pakistan wants the process of talks with IMF to proceed and the international lender has committed to sending a mission to the country soon," the finance adviser added.
