PM directs ministries to resolve problems of federal employees

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has directed the ministries to resolve the problems of federal employees on Wednesday.

This was stated by Minister for Information Shibli Faraz while talking to the journalists. He has assured to soon address the problems faced by the federal employees. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan is particularly concerned about the problems of employees and has given directions to address them including those relating to their salaries.

The minister expressed the confidence that the employees will end their protest today. To a question, Shibli Faraz said the present government inherited difficult economic situation due to the flawed policies of previous governments. He said it is because of our effective policies that the economy is now witnessing improvement despite the breakout of COVID-19.

"We are performing much better than the other regional countries. The issue of price hike will also be checked in the days to come," he added. He said the economic progress will also help generate job opportunities for the people.

All matters with federal employees to be sorted out amicably

A three-member government's committee headed by Defence Minister Pervez Khattak has said that all the matters with the federal employees will be sorted out amicably and with mutual understanding.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed and Minister of State for Parliamentary affairs Ali Muhammad Khan, the defence minister said. "We were holding talks with the employees and agreed on a number of steps including the up gradation," he added.

He said the government was ready to extend a relief to the employees in the form of a special allowance till the presentation of the next budget.

He said the recommendations of the pay and pension commission would be incorporated in the next budget. He said it was earlier agreed that the salaries will be enhanced of the employees from 1 to 16 grades but yesterday the employees demanded the increase for all the employees.

"We are ready to again hold talks with them but clarified that any relief will be given keeping in view the current economic situation of the country," he maintained.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said resolution of the issues of the people is responsibility of the state and the government is committed to this end.

Defence Minister Sheikh Rasheed said, "We want to move ahead with laborers and resolution of their issue is our foremost priority.
