PM directs PTI leaders to expose former rulers’ extravagance

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Sunday directed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders to update masses about the extravagance of the former rulers. PM Khan chaired a high-level party’s meeting at his residence in Bani Gala. Finance minister Asad Umar, Naeemul Haque, Aleem Khan, Shibli Faraz and Iftikhar Durrani and other high-profile leaders were also present in the meeting. During the meeting, Imran Khan said that the former rulers of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) should be dealt with iron hand. According to the sources, the meeting discussed the government strategy and priorities, distribution of party tickets for by-polls and the 100-day plan. The PM reportedly took crucial decisions following briefings by the party leaders. He issued several directives including giving media access to the information of luxurious vehicles used by ex-rulers. He asked the PTI leaders to highlight PTI’s manifesto and its implementation. The meeting decided to devise a strategy to highlight the important decisions of the PTI government, including noticeable reduction in government expenditures, abolition of the discretionary powers of the prime minister, and election of a middle class representative as the Punjab chief minister. Imran also directed to run effective campaign for dam fund locally, internationally and on social media as well. The meeting decided that all decisions will be taken with consensus by taking the parliament into confidence. Finance minister gave in-depth briefing to PM over country’s economic situation and financial challenges.
