PM directs to form JIT to probe LDA plaza fire incident

LAHORE (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday has directed the Punjab government to constitute joint investigation team (JIT) to probe fire incident at LDA plaza. During the meeting, Imran Khan took the notice of mysterious fire incident at LDA plaza in which seven people were killed while invaluable real estate records were burnt to ashes. The PM presided over a meeting on the local bodies in Lahore. PM Khan presided over huddle of Punjab Cabinet here in provincial capital today. The prime minister was briefed by the Punjab chief minister over the efficiency of provincial government. Imran Khan directed to audit of all the big projects. PM also barred provincial ministers from taking weekly holidays. “We have to unveil massive corruption of the previous governments. We will conduct forensic audit of all mega-projects,” he added. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar also attended the meeting. PM also directed officials concerned to finalize draft of new local bodies system in the next 48 hours. “Real change will only come by sharing power to the grass-roots level,” he said. Imran Khan arrived in Lahore on Sunday; he presided over a meeting on the local bodies in Lahore this afternoon. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar also attended the meeting. LDA plaza, located on Egerton road, erupted fire back then in 2013 killing seven while turning important real state and mega-project’s record to ashes. The fire had erupted at around 11AM forcing dwellers to flee.
