PM directs to prepare strategy to deal with timber mafia

MIANWALI (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has directed the Punjab Administration to prepare a strategy to deal with timber mafia, which are involved in massive cutting down of trees. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Spring Tree Plantation Campaign in Mianwali on Sunday, the prime minister mentioned that the forest land mafia is culprit and they should be put behind the bars. “The corruption is being decreased in the country due to arrest of big fishes. We found the country’s rule with worse economic condition. The prices of grain should not be soared because we can provide the grains to world,” he maintained.
People who encroached on forest land should be jailed
The premier also said that the people who have encroached on forest land should be treated like criminals and jailed. “People have taken over our land, he added, directing Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to treat people who encroach on forest land like criminals,” he said. Imran Khan said that don’t just fine them Rs500,000, send them to jail too. “This is a crime against our country, against our youth and against our youth’s future,” he added.
Nothing should be expensive in Pakistan
“Pakistan has 12 seasons. How many countries have 12 seasons?” asked the premier. He said all types of fruit can be grown in the country. If we use our water properly, we can supply the world, he said. Nothing should be expensive in Pakistan, not with the soil and water resources we have, he said. “This is our mistake. We haven’t used God’s blessings properly,” he said.
Stopping small thieves doesn’t solve problem
He said they are fixing hospitals and schools in Mianwali and have brought in a Punjab IG who will work for the people. “I have told him to go after the big guys and leave the small ones,” said PM Khan. “Stopping small thieves doesn’t solve the problem. Going after the big ones will automatically scare the small ones,” he said. He also hailed efforts of the Punjab government in providing basic facilities of education, health and clean drinking water to masses.
PM vows to transform Pakistan into welfare Islamic state
Imran Khan has reiterated the government’s resolve to make Pakistan a welfare Islamic state in lines with the vision of founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said the PTI-led government is working on the agenda of making Pakistan a prosperous Islamic welfare nation on the pattern of state of Madina.
Government’s resolve to provide job opportunities
PM Khan expressed the government’s resolve to provide job opportunities to youth, alleviate poverty, and control inflation through prudent economic policies.
Will provide six million health cards
The premier said the government will provide six million health cards to people across Punjab out of which 5 million have already been issued. He said the government will provide interest-free loans to eighty thousands people per month, while fifty thousand scholarships will be provided to under graduate students every year.
Youth can play major role in making tree plantation drive success
Shedding light on the significance of the plantation, the prime minister said the government is planning to introduce a subject of Tree Plantation in the curriculum across the country. He the youth has a major role to play in making the tree plantation drive a success. He said the government's Clean and Green Pakistan initiative in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received global acclamation. The Prime Minister directed the Punjab Administration to prepare a strategy to deal with timber mafia, which are involved in massive cutting down of trees. Imran Khan also appreciated efforts of the Punjab government in providing basic facilities of education, health and clean drinking water to masses. Earlier, the prime minister inaugurated the plantation drive by planting a sapling at Kundian area of Mianwali.
