PM directs to provide facilities to Chinese investors setting up industries in Pakistan on emergency basis
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to provide facilities to Chinese investors setting up industries in Pakistan on emergency basis.
A Chinese trade delegation called on Prime Minister Imran Khan. The prime minister was informed in the briefing that Chinese businessmen are keen to work in the fields of glass, ceramics and information technology. "Oppo, a well-known Chinese mobile maker, is setting up a local mobile manufacturing unit in Pakistan, while a research and development centre will also be set up. This will not only save huge foreign exchange reservesvccc on the annual import of smartphones but will also create employment opportunities," he added
He said that issues related to the provision of roads and utility facilities to Chinese investors should be resolved. “We are grateful to them for their keen interest in accelerating their investment in Special Economic Zones.”
The Chinese investors thanked the prime minister for assuring them that the issues would be resolved soon.
The prime minister said that the two countries are not only connected in the past and present. "We will remain united for generations to come," he concluded.
