LAHORE (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has been featured on Time Magazine’s cover page in the publication’s special edition on the World Economic Forum (WEF). PM Khan can be seen on the cover page of Time Magazine along with four other world leaders. It is pertinent to mention here that the annual summit of global movers and shakers kicks off in the Swiss resort of Davos on Tuesday and will last four days. In the picture of cover page, other four leaders with PM Khan included WEF founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Europe’s Central Bank President Christine Lagarde. The magazine’s cover featured the five leaders sitting on a chair lift with the snow-covered Swiss Alps in the background. United States President Donald Trump and young climate activist Greta Thunberg can also be seen sitting together on another chairlift in the background of the illustration. PM Imran Khan will leave for Davos to attend the World Economic Forum. According to the decided schedule of visit, the prime minister will leave for Davos, Switzerland at 10am for three days to attend (WEF) starting from Tuesday. The sources said that Special Assistant Zulfi Bukhari, Abdul Razzak Dawood, the foreign secretary will be accompanied with the premier during his visit. The important economic team members and other governmental officials will also part of the premier’s delegation. Due to the foreign visit, the prime minister did not summon the federal cabinet meeting. PM Khan will return back to country on Jan 23.
What PM to speak at World Economic Forum?
Throughout his engagements at Davos, the prime minister will share Pakistan’s vision and achievements in the areas of economy, peace and stability, trade, business and investment opportunities. He will also highlight the current situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) and Pakistan’s perspective on key regional and international issues.
Who invited Pm Imran Khan?
He has been invited to attend the Forum by Founder and Executive Chairman of WEF Professor Klaus Schwab. The thematic focus of this session is on, “Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World.” Two key highlights of the visit include the PM’s keynote address at the WEF Special Session, and his interaction at the Pakistan Strategy Dialogue with CEOs and corporate leaders.
PM to hold meeting with US President Donald Trump
On the sidelines, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders. These also include premier’s meeting with US President Donald Trump. This would be the third leadership-level interaction between Pakistan and the US since the prime minister’s visit to Washington in July last year. Several meetings are also scheduled with a wide range of corporate, business, technology and finance executives, and representatives of international financial institutions.
Interview with senior international media persons
Imran Khan will also speak to senior international media persons and editors during a session with the Forum’s International Media Council. He will also give interviews to major international media outlets.
