PM forms PML-N's five-member committee to discuss caretaker set-up, general elections

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a five-member committee to discuss the issue of the caretaker set-up and the general elections.

The committee comprises of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal and Ishaq Dar. The committee will hold talks with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and other allies.

The committee will remain in touch with PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif.

Meanwhile, the prime minister has asked the allies parties to form committees to hold talks.

On the other hand, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Raja Riaz has started consultations with political parties for the appointment of the caretaker prime minister. He held two meetings with Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

The prime minister and the opposition leader are likely to start regular consultations from August 1.
