KARACHI (92 News) – Breaking the ice over the issue of transfer of Sindh IGP Kaleem Imam, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto tweeted that Prime Minister Imran Khan had changed the Islamabad IG for not obeying illegal orders to take action against a poor family whose cow had dared to stray into a minister’s home. He said that after months of deteriorating law and order, on public demand, when the elected representatives of the people of Sindh sent five names on basis of seniority for a new IG to the federal government. https://twitter.com/BBhuttoZardari/status/1222522606726926336?s=20 “The PM would not do his job and agree to an IG. This is another example of Aik Nahi Do Pakistan and the joke that is Naya Pakistan. It would be funny if this did not have such serious consequences for real peoples’ lives,” he added. Meanwhile, Adviser to Sindh CM on Law and Anti-Corruption Establishment Murtaza Wahab said that they would not consult Governor Imran Ismail for the appointment of the new IGP. Talking to the media on Wednesday, he said that the name of the new IGP was finalized on January 27. “Only the federal government can tell about the U-turn taken,” he said. Murtaza Wahab said that they hope that the prime minister would fulfill the promise of changing the IGP. He demanded that Sindh should be treated like other provinces in the matter of transfer of the IGP. “Now the Sindh government will not give the new name,” he added. Murtaza Wahab said that the prime minister had raised the slogan of one Pakistan, not two. “The matters were moving in the right direction over the matter of the Sindh IGP, but Firdous Ashiq Awan’s words surprised us,” he said. He said that it was beyond understanding how Dr Kaleem Imam come to know about all words. Saeed Ghani said that the consultation with the Sindh governor would be illegal. “The prime minister and the chief minister had agreed to the single name. Some people are making Prime Minister ashamed,” he said.
