Opposition leader should quarantine his corona-affected thought: Firdous

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif should quarantine his corona-affected thought. Briefing the media about the decisions made by the federal cabinet on Tuesday, she said that Shehbaz Sharif should contribute something to Corona Relief Fund from his assets. “It is not time to do politics or criticize anyone. It is time to stand with the people,” he added. She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed to remove hurdles in the smooth flow of goods transport. “Transporters and exporters are facing problems due to lockdown in Sindh. Sukuk bonds will be issued through Islamic Banking for three years. Cash will be transferred through biometric,” she said. The special assistant said that the Labour Ministry had been directed to prepare a strategy of complete registration of the labour class in consultation with all provinces to ensure their social, health and job security. “The prime minister has also directed to introduce reforms in the PIA, the FBR, and Pakistan Railways in addition to promoting e-governance,” she added. Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the National Coordination Committee's meeting would be held in Islamabad on Wednesday to address prevailing situation of flour crisis. She also urged the opposition to avoid politicizing the current situation and join hands with government to contain coronavirus. “The government will welcome suggestions and proposals by the opposition in this regard,” she concluded.
