PM Imran Khan announces new Corona Relief Fund for unemployed people

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a new Corona Relief Fund to help the people losing their jobs due to the pandemic on Thursday. Addressing a ceremony, the prime minister said that an amount of Rs81 billion had been given to 6.6 million families. “Most of amounts have been distributed in Sindh. The Tiger Force will inform the government about the deserving people,” he said. The prime minister said that unemployed people could contact through the SMS. He said that the number of coronavirus cases is very low in Pakistan as compared to other countries. “In the US, over 60,000 people have died. In Pakistan, the coronavirus cases and deaths have increased but the situation is not uncontrollable,” he said. Federal Minister for Planning and Reform Asad Umar feared an increase in the deaths due to coronavirus. “The people should follow the SOPs to curb coronavirus,” he added. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza said that N-95 masks will start manufacturing in Pakistan from next week. “Doctors and staffers will be trained to combat coronavirus,” he said. Dr Sania Nishtar said that an FIR would be registered against the people involved in deducting the amount. She said that the government would contribute Rs4 against Re1 donated by the people. Hammad Azhar said that 75-80 daily wagers are not registered with the NADRA. “The Tiger Force will trace and inform about the common man in difficulty,” he added. The minister said that the prime minister would announce a relief package for small businesses.
