ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that the ongoing partial lockdown will continue for two weeks. Expressing his views after a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) on Tuesday, he said that educational and sports activities will remain suspended for two weeks. We are introducing an ordinance to check smuggling and profiteering. Strict punishments will be awarded to the owners involved in profiteering,” he declared. He said that there is fear of wheat and dollar smuggling. Imran Khan also announced to bring back all Pakistanis stranded in different countries. Earlier, the federal government, with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair, had recommended extension in the lockdown until April 28. However, the National Coordination Committee (NCC) will make the final decision on the matter today. Meanwhile, the cabinet also approved the decisions made by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC). It waived off the advance income tax on the commission of the agents of Ehsas Emergency Cash Programme. The cabinet deferred the increase in the amount of the EOBI pensioners. It also endorsed the decisions made by the Committee for Legislative cases. The forum also approved the handing over the control of Islamabad Marghzar’s Zoo to the Ministry of Climate Change.
