PM Imran Khan approves to introduce castration law for rapists

The decision was made during a meeting of the federal cabinet.

The forum also approved recommendations for strict sentences in the rape cases.

Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda and Narcotics Control Azam Swati demanded public hanging for rapists.

The prime minister said that initially they will have to go to the castration law. "The matter is serious. We will not delay legislation. Clear-cut and transparent legislation will be made for protecting the masses," he said.

He said that strict implementation of the law would be ensured. On September 14, Prime Minister Imran had expressed the resolve to award stern punishments to rapists.

The legal team has completed the manuscript of Rape Ordinance, while women policing, fast track cases and protection of witnesses will be basic part of it.

The identity of the affected women and children will be protected. "We have to give our society a safe environment," he said.
