PM Imran Khan asks people to follow safety instructions issued by govt

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the people to follow the instructions issued by the government to curb coronavirus. In a tweet on Saturday, he said: “I want to inform the nation I am personally overseeing measures to deal with COVID-19 and will address the nation soon. I would advise people to follow safety instructions issued by our govt. While there is a need for caution there is no need for panic. https://twitter.com/ImranKhanPTI/status/1238846823747518467?s=20 “We are alert to the dangers and have put in place sufficient protocols for the safety and health of our people. The WHO has commended our efforts as being amongst the best in the world.” On Friday, the government has cancelled the March 23 Parade and closed all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, universities and seminaries, across the country. The decision was made during a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday. In a tweet, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood said: “In a meeting of the National Security Committee presided over PM Imran Khan, it has been decided to close all educational institutions in the country till April 5. This includes all schools and universities, public and private, vocational institutions and madaris. https://twitter.com/Shafqat_Mahmood/status/1238464735538003968?s=20 “The situation regarding closure of all educational institutions in the country would be reviewed by the Ministry of Education on March 27 and further decisions taken.” https://twitter.com/Shafqat_Mahmood/status/1238465730858962944?s=20 Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has recommended that a health emergency should be declared in the country. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza briefed the meeting about coronavirus. Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Abbasi, Air Chief Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan and several high-ranking officers attended the meeting.
