PM Imran Khan briefed about progress on making Bala Hissar Fort as the tourist center

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan was briefed about progress on making Attock and Bala Hissar Fort as the tourist centers.

Chairing a meeting of National Coordination Committee on Tourism in Islamabad, the prime minister has underlined the need for fully exploiting the tourism potential of Pakistan by ensuring international standard facilities at tourist spots.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the departments concerned to immediately finalize and furnish suggestions aimed at extending facilitation including tax exemptions to those interested in developing tourist resorts and world class hotels.

Alluding to the rest houses and other historic places in Jhelum and its adjoining areas, the Prime Minister said that the public private partnership model should be used for the rehabilitation of these buildings. He directed to address the pending matters pertaining to tourism on priority basis.

The meeting was informed that the services of an international organization has been hired for promotion of investment in tourism sector in Punjab. Similarly, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, draft of master plans have been prepared for four integrated tourism zones.

It was informed that rules and regulations framed in Punjab regarding tourism will be enforced at the earliest whilst in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, these are in the implementation phase.

The meeting was informed that a centralized tourism website is fully functional for promotion of tourism in all the four provinces.

The Prime Minister was also briefed about the progress made so far to make Attock and Bala Hisar Fort as the tourist centers.
