PM Imran Khan is the authority in appointment of DG ISI, says Fawad Chaudhary

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa enjoy close and pleasant relations.

Addressing a press conference after the federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday, he said that the civil-military relations are ideal in the history of Pakistan. "Last night, PM Imran Khan and COAS Qamar Bajwa held a long meeting. The PM Office will never take such step diminishing the respect of COAS Qamar Bajwa. The COAS will not take any step to reduce the respect of the PM," he added.

The minister denied the news being spread on the social media as unfounded. "PM Imran Khan is the authority in the appointment of the DG ISI. All constitutional and legal requirements will be fulfilled for the appointment of the new DG ISI," he maintained.

He said that the Rehmatul-Lil-Alameen Authority will work with the regard to the curriculum of children. "Over 15 federal ministers attended the funeral of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan. Moreover, high-ranking civil and military officers also participated in the funeral," he added.

Fawad Chaudhary reiterated that overseas Pakistanis will be given the right to vote. "Vacancies of 18 departments are being abolished. Not a single appointment was made in violation of merit," he said.
