PM Imran Khan congratulates Sadiq Sanjrani on regaining Senate confidence

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at PM House on Friday. The prime minister congratulated him on regaining the confidence of the Senate. He expressed the hope that Sadiq Sanjrani would continue to dispense his responsibilities to runs the House’s proceedings in an amicable way. “The members’ confidence in the leadership capabilities is the proof that Sanjrani is running the House in a better way,” said the PM. Leader of the House Shibli Faraz and Pervaiz Khattak were also present. On Thursday, the no-confidence motions had failed against Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala. The no-confidence motion against Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani was tabled by Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Raja Zafarul Haq. Fifty senators voted in favour of the motion. Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani got 45 votes while five votes were rejected. Nine opposition members also voted in favour of the Senate chairman. After the failure of the no-confidence motion against him, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani said that there was no miracle as he was already confident. “I thanks all senators for voting me.” Meanwhile, no-confidence motion against Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala also failed. Leader of the House Saleem Mandviwala Shibli Faraz had tabled the motion. In total, 61 senators participated in the voting process. T hirty-two votes were cast in favour of the no-confidence motion, while seven senators voted against him. As a result, Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala also survived the no-confidence motion against him. Later, the Senate session was adjourned for an indefinite period.
