ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the ministers to defend the cabinet members named in the power scandal inquiry report. Sources quoted the prime minister as saying: “Nadeem Babar, Khusru Bakhtiyar and Abdur Razzaq Dawood are honest and comptent ministers. I hope all three will be cleared by the inquiry commission.” The PM also said that the IPPs agreements were signed by former governments and the electricity is available at high rates due to the wrong agreements. Earlier on Tuesday, the federal cabinet meeting has approved on Tuesday to make public the inquiry report on the power sector scandal. The meeting was held under the chair of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. The cabinet gave approval after Chairman Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCoE) Muhammad Ali presented the recommendations and report in the meeting. According to sources, the federal cabinet approved the publication of the report. The prime minister also directed to make commission on inquiry report The meeting also approved the reduction of sales tax for the construction industry in Islamabad. Restructuring of Competition Commission of Pakistan was also approved by the cabinet. The federal cabinet was also briefed on actions against the Corona virus.
