LAHORE (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the world's largest Miyawaki urban forest in Lahore on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Maiyawaki forest will help control environmental pollution. "It is pity that the City of Gardens has become the most polluted city of the country. The world has caused a clossal loss to the evironmental pollution."

The prime minister said that Pakistan is doing more than its capcity to end pollution. "Only 640 million trees were planted in the country until 2013. After 2013, one billion trees were planted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone," he maintained.

He said that the forest is spanning over 100 Kannal of land and 165,000 saplings will be planted there.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan held meetings with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Punjab Governor Chaudhary Sarwar. He reviewed the law and order situation and progress on the uplift projects.

Punjab Governor Chaudhary Sarwar briefed the prime minister about the expected overseas convention.

On Tuesday, he will pay a one-day visit to Karachi.
