PM Imran, Qatari counterpart discuss bilateral relations
DOHA (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan met Qatari Prime Minister Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani at his residence in Doha on Monday.
Bilateral relations, with a focus on economic cooperation between the two countries, were discussed during the meeting. The Qatari Prime Minister also hosted a dinner in the honour of prime minister and his delegation.
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Adviser to PM Abdul Razak Dawood, Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, Chairman Board of Investment Haroon Sharif, Chairperson Task Force on Energy Nadeem Babar, Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua, Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar Syed Ahsan Raza Shah were also present during the meeting.
On the invitation of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday arrived in Qatar on a two-day official visit.
He was received by Qatar’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Qatar Soltan bin Saad al-Muraikhi at the airport.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Adviser to PM Abdul Razak Dawood, SAPM Zulfikar Bukhari, Chairman BOI Haroon Sharif and Chairperson Task Force on Energy Nadeem Babar are accompanying the prime minister.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will meet Emir of Qatar and his Qatari counterpart. Besides meetings with Qatari leadership, the prime minister will meet business and investment community of Qatar. He will also address Pakistani community during the visit.
Detailing the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said the visit to Qatar would further expand relations between Pakistan and Qatar.
“There’s an enormous potential in amplifying Pak-Qatar relations,” Qureshi said while talking to media before leaving for a two-day visit to Qatar with PM Imran Khan.
He said a large number of Pakistanis were employed in Qatar and the prime minister will discuss the issue of exporting more Pakistani skilled and unskilled workforce to Qatar for getting employment in different sectors including IT.
