ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday resolved not to leave the victims of the Machh tragedy alone.

Talking to the Hazara community members at Bahadur Khan University, he assured that their community would be protected. "We will chase and eliminate the terrorists. A cell has been set up for the protection of the Hazara community," he added.

The prime minister said that intelligence agencies had informed him that India wants to create anarchy through the bloodshed of the Shia community. "So many people have been martyred due to a sectarian group. Threats were hurled to me for speaking against this group," he added.

He thanked the Hazara community for agreeing to his advice of the burial of the martyrs. "Being a citizen, I have been coming to you and it is a bit difficult being the prime minister. For this reason, I had asked for the burial of the martyrs. It becomes difficult for the next PM if you put such condition," he maintained.

The prime minister said that he had sent the interior minister there to take the relatives into confidence.

He also distributed cheques worth Rs 2.5 million among the relatives of each victim. The Hazara community thanked the prime minister for visiting Quetta on their demand.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over a high-level meeting to discuss security and law and order in Balochistan.

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal, Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, Federal Ministers Sheikh Rasheed, Ali Ameen Gandapur, Syed Ali Zaidi, SAPM Zulfi Bukhari, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali and IGP Mohsin Hassan Butt also attended the meeting.
